Custom Kitchen Remodel with Beaded Inset Cabinetry

This kitchen remodel in Colchester, VT started with a disaster, not a renovation plan. A dishwasher leak flooded the room, and once we fixed what caused it and repaired the damage, we built a brand new kitchen from there.

The new cabinetry is Cabico Unique's beaded inset line, and the small details are what give it character.

MSI Quartz Portico Cream tops every surface. We played into that cream tone with a warm beige tile backsplash, and together they make the whole kitchen feel warm and cozy. We also took the old breakfast bar and brought it down to peninsula height, making the space more inviting and giving them a lot more usable countertop space.

A few final touches round out the room:

• Crown molding running up to the ceiling, carrying the same small details found in the millwork
• KitchenAid appliances
• New pendant lighting over the peninsula and sink
• A fresh paint color

This is one of those clients we've been back to more than once since, tackling new projects together as they come up. It started with a stressful phone call about a flood, and we walked her through every step from there, the damage, the decisions, the wait, all the way to the reveal. What began as a disaster turned into the kitchen she'd always wanted.
